Reno County unemployment rate increased to 3.8% in March

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County unemployment rate increased by a fraction in March compared to the previous month, according to the Kansas Department of Labor.

The jobless rate increased from 3.7% to 3.8%. The unemployment rate in 2020 was 3.5%.

The number of those out of work in the county was 1,125, with 771 in the city of Hutchinson. The city's jobless rate also ticked up a tenth of a point to 4.1%.

State wide, the unemployment numbers fell slightly from 3.9% to 3.8%.
