HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Sentencing is set Tuesday for a Hutchinson man who recently entered a guilty plea in connection with a 2017 shooting.
Maique Rodriguez was originally charged with attempted first-degree murder in the shooting of his uncle, Jesus Faudoa. Instead, Rodriguez pleaded guilty in October to aggravated robbery and robbery. He was supposed to be sentenced Nov. 4, but it was continued to Tuesday.
Faudoa was found shot multiple times in the 700 block of East 7th Avenue. Rodriguez then took the victim's cell phone and pickup. He was arrested in El Paso, Texas, earlier this year and brought back to Reno County.
Sentencing is set in front of Judge Joe McCarville.
