HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The City of Hutchinson has requested applications for the Human Relations Officer position.
The position has been vacant since Datjaeda Moore resigned after being suspended. Former Human Relations Commission Chair David Sotelo has taken the position in the interim.
Human Resources Director Tom Sanders says the opening has been posted for about a month and, so far, they have received approximately 10 applications. The position will be full time with a salary between $40,000 and $60,000 per year.
The posting says the position works under the supervision of the City Manager and is responsible for administering the Human Relations Ordinance pertaining to anti-discrimination in housing, employment and public accommodations. Implementing and facilitating various programs is required.
The employee should possess excellent communication, organizational and public relation skills; and demonstrate working knowledge and experience with multi-cultural competency.
