Virginia Adair Hankins Bohannon, 77, died June 15, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society, Hutchinson Village. She was born December 14, 1944, in Hutchinson, to Roger William and Venus Ocilla (Dyer) Hankins.
Virginia graduated from Tulsa Central High School, Tulsa, OK, in 1964. She worked as a certified nurse’s aide and certified medication aide at Buhler Sunshine Home and KSIR. Virginia enjoyed quilting, reading, Bingo, and writing her life story. She was a member of St. Mary Orthodox Christian Church, Wichita.
Virginia is survived by: daughters, Michelle Estes (Michael) of Troy and Susanne Gehring of Buhler; brother, Duwayne Hankins (Joetta) of Kingman, AZ; sister, Rosa Lee Hankins; bonus sister, Sarah Hendrixson (John), all of Hutchinson; four grandchildren, Grace Anne Estes, Caitlin Hernandez (Adan), Jake Gehring (Kayt), and Jackson Gehring; and two great-grandchildren, Emilia Hernandez and Russell Gehring.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Nelvin, Robert, and Dale; and son-in-law, Danny Gehring.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Elliott Chapel, with the Reverend Father Aaron Warwick officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.
