AUGUSTA, Kan. - The Kansas Cannons were able to score in the middle innings to defeat the Hutchinson Monarchs 4-2 Wednesday night in Augusta.
Hutchinson jumped on top score a run in the top of the first but the Cannons scored in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings shutting out the Monarchs until they were able to rally and score one run in the top of the seventh inning.
Blake Bradford singled and scored in the seventh, but the Cannons were able to shut down the rally by retiring the final two Monarch batters for the win.
Hutch falls to 8-4, while the Cannons improve to 11-5.
Both teams will be back on action on Friday at Hobart-Detter with the first pitch at 7pm.
