Youth of the Year nominees begin preparation

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The nominees for the Hutchinson Boys and Girls Club Youth of the Year competition are beginning their preparation.

The nominees this year are Camrynn Harris, Taysha Rideaux, Graciela Medina and Gabriel Marcum. 

This is the second year as nominees for Harris and Rideaux. This is the first year for Medina and Marcum.

The Youth of the Year title is a prestigious honor bestowed upon an exemplary young person in recognition of leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to live a healthy lifestyle.

The local Youth of the Year receives a $1,000 college scholarship thanks to Heartland Credit Union and will compete in the Kansas Youth of the Year competition in the spring. 

The 2023 and 2024 winner in Hutchinson, Zion Burgess, also won the state title in 2024.

The 2025 Youth of the Year banquet will be Dec. 5 at the 1861 Club on the Kansas State Fairgrounds.
