The Hutchinson Community College football team will play in its first nationally ranked matchup this week, according to the latest NJCAA Division I Football rankings released on Monday.
For the fourth-straight regular-season poll, the Blue Dragons (3-0, 1-0 KJCCC) are No. 2 in the rankings with 112 points and one first-place vote. The Dragons trail Iowa Western, which has 120 points and nine first-place votes.
The Blue Dragons travel to play No. 12 Butler this Saturday at 6 p.m. at BG Products Veterans Stadium in El Dorado. The Grizzlies are 1-1 overall and will be playing their first conference game of the season.
The Blue Dragons extended their program record for the longest consecutive run in the national poll to 68 weeks. The Dragons have been ranked in the top three of the NJCAA Rankings for 62 consecutive polls and have been ranked No. 1 in 51 of the 87 polls released in the Drew Dallas era.
The Blue Dragons defeated Garden City 70-0 on Saturday night at Gowans Stadium, rolling up 415 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. Overall, the Blue Dragons outgained Garden City 583-101.

Mississippi Gulf Coast moves up one spot to No. 3, followed by Georgia Military at No. 4 and East Mississippi at No. 5.
Future Blue Dragon opponent Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (October 24 in Hutchinson) moved up four spots to No. 6.
Butler, which came off a bye last week, stayed at No. 12 and Coffeyville remained No. 15 after a close victory over Independence. Dodge City is receiving votes this week.
