Viola D. Unruh, 96, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Mercy Hospital. She was born April 11, 1925 in rural Galva, the daughter of Dan H. and Susie (Unruh) Becker.
She was a member of Lone Tree Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in rural Galva. She attended South Diamond School in rural Galva.
She was united in marriage to Harry D. Unruh on November 14, 1943 in rural Galva. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2009. Viola was a homemaker.
Viola is survived by her sons, Gerald Unruh of Canton, and Dennis (Rachael) Unruh of Glenn, California; daughters, Doreen Unruh of Moundridge, and Sharon (Vaughn) Unruh of Galva; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Unruh of Atwater, California; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Vernon D. (Elfrieda) Becker of Moundridge; sisters, Twila (Cleo) Jantz of Winton, California, and Lovella Koehn of Transylvania, Louisiana; sisters-in-law, Twila Becker of Moundridge, Joann Unruh of Moundridge, and Agnes Becker of Scio, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; stepmother, Katheryn Becker; son, Allen Unruh; daughter-in-law, Wilma Unruh; brothers, Eldon Becker, Clayton Becker, and Arnold Becker.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Lone Tree Mennonite Church, Galva. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, January 12, at Moundridge Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., at the church.
