
Oscar J. Jacobs, 90, died May 9, 2021 at Newton.
He was born May 24, 1930, at Cheney, Kansas the son of Henry and Margaret Anna Hilger. A longtime resident of the Waterloo and Murdock communities, he was retired from the Garden Plain Co-op.
Oscar was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church, Waterloo; and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
On Oct. 18, 1955, he married Alice Lucille Mertens at Willowdale; she survives. Other survivors include sons Dan, David (Linda), and Dean; daughters Donna (Tom) Ratzlaff, Debra Lorg, Dianne Taber, Denise (Greg) Baker, Darlene Jacobs, Doris Boroughs; sister Jeanette Traffas; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers Harold, Vincent, Richard, Sylvester and Virgil; sisters Florence, Delaphine, Sr. Loretta, Roseanne, Helen and Lucy; and a granddaughter Nicole Marie.
Parish rosary will be 6:00 p.m., Sunday at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kingman. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday also at the St. Patrick Church. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday at the Livingston Funeral Home. Burial will be in the St. Louis Cemetery, Waterloo.
Memorials may be made with the St. Louis Church, St. Patrick Catholic Church, Paramount HCF and Good Shepherd Hospice, all in care of the funeral home.
