HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Buhler rolled to a strong showing on the lanes Thursday, sweeping the varsity boys title and placing second on the girls side in a four-team high school bowling quad at The Alley.
The Crusader boys finished first with a team total of 2,606, pulling away from Hesston (2,415), Wichita Collegiate (2,225) and Andale (2,213). Buhler also produced the top two individual series of the day, led by Stryker Avery’s meet-best 714. Logan Brown followed close behind with a 694 as Buhler placed multiple bowlers in the top tier.
Hesston was paced by Tanner McAllister, who rolled a 669 to finish third overall, and Mario Murillo, who posted a 667 and placed fourth. Those efforts helped the Swathers secure second place in the team standings.
On the girls side, Buhler placed second overall with a team score of 1,880, trailing Andale (1,974) and finishing ahead of Wichita Collegiate (1,711). Cheyann Geesling led Buhler with a 497 series, good for third individually, while Macy Miller added a 468 (7th place) and Aubrey Ewing (9th place) finished with 431.
Junior varsity competition also featured notable performances from Buhler. The Crusader boys won the JV team title with a 2,067 total, led by Nate Nugent’s first-place individual series of 585. KJ Spurlin (499) and Blake Mourn (491) also placed among the top finishers. On the girls JV side, Buhler placed second with a 1,243 team score, paced by Brynn Treaster’s 444 series, which finished second individually.
