HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council is still mulling the idea of whether it is best to make the city's website the official city newspaper, as suggested by staff at their meeting Sept. 17.

"I think it'll probably come back at some point," said Mayor Greg Fast. "You know, again, I can share my personal opinion on that and that is thatI think that more people have access to the internet then they have access to the newspaper. I know there's value in holding a piece of paper in your hand and reading the news, but I mean less and less people are actually doing that. More and more folks have the ability to be online and I think that it would probably make sense in my mind for transparency, for community involvement, to have that online and furthermore, it would save the city quite a bit of money every year."

Fast didn't know when the issue would be brought back up again.
