Pittsburg State dropped six spots to No. 10, while Fort Hays State entered the rankings at No. 25 in the latest American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division II Coaches Poll.
The Gorillas fell from No. 4 after opening the season with a 42-14 loss to top-ranked Ferris State. Pittsburg State will look to bounce back Saturday when it hosts Emporia State.
Fort Hays State made its season debut in the poll after a 35-14 victory over Angelo State. The Tigers face another major test Thursday when they host No. 5 CSU Pueblo.
Northwest Missouri State remained No. 8 after rolling past Texas A&M-Kingsville 48-3 in its season opener. The Bearcats are off this week before hosting Washburn on Sept. 12.
Northeastern State also moved into the Top 25, checking in at No. 24 after a dominant 52-0 victory over Delta State. The RiverHawks travel to Missouri S&T on Saturday.
Central Oklahoma received 36 votes but remained outside the Top 25.
Ferris State retained the No. 1 ranking and received all 31 first-place votes following its victory over Pittsburg State. Harding remained No. 2, followed by Kutztown, Minnesota State and CSU Pueblo.
Minnesota State climbed one spot to No. 4 after defeating Colorado Mesa 38-14, while CSU Pueblo moved to No. 5 following a 44-25 win over Central Missouri.
Slippery Rock made one of the biggest moves of the week, entering the rankings at No. 18 after a 45-43 double-overtime victory over then-No. 12 Minnesota-Duluth.
