From September 11th through September 20th, 2026, the Hutchinson Police Department will conduct enhanced DUI enforcement during the Kansas State Fair. The effort is intended to help keep fairgoers, visitors, and all motorists safe on the roads leading to and from the fairgrounds.

Alcohol, marijuana, and other illegal drugs can impair a person’s ability to drive safely. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs can result in a DUI arrest, serious injury, or death.

Fairgoers are encouraged to plan ahead. If you plan to drink, do not drive. Use a designated driver, taxi, rideshare service, or call a sober friend or family member for a ride home.

The Kansas State Fair should be remembered for time spent with family and friends, not for a preventable crash, arrest, injury, or loss of life.
