RENO COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 3p.m. Saturday in Reno County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Pontiac G6 driven by Payne, Jonathan R. Payne, 36, Hutchinson, was westbound at a high rate of speed on U.S. 50 at Main Street in South Hutchinson.
The car rear-ended a 2003 Ford F150 driven by Lee J. Smith, 42, Hutchinson, who was exiting U.S. 50 at Main Street. After impact, the pickup rotated clockwise, traveled off the road and struck a sign post.
EMS transported Payne to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Smith was not injured. Payne was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
