Because of potential high temperatures in South-Central Kansas forecast for Saturday, the Hutchinson Community College women’s soccer kickoff at Cowley has been moved up four hours to 11 a.m.
The Blue Dragons (2-4-1, 1-1-1 KJCCC) travel to play No. 7 Cowley (3-1, 2-1 KJCCC) at the Cowley Soccer Complex in Arkansas City. The game was originally scheduled for 3 p.m.
Saturday’s high in Arkansas City is expected to reach 99 degrees with south-southwest wins at 10 to 20 mph.
This is the third time this season that high temperatures have affected Blue Dragon game times. On September 4, kickoff for a home match against Iowa Western was moved back 90 minutes to 7:30 p.m. Then on September 9 at Great Bend, the Blue Dragons road game at Barton was moved up 3 hours to 11 a.m.
