
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — According to the Reno County Clerk's Office, four candidates have filed for the District 5 seat on the Reno County Commission as Republicans.
As of just after the deadline at noon on June 1, Don Bogner, Tom L. Collins, Mike Warren and Penelope Poitras have all filed for the seat as Republicans. There is no Democrat filed for the seat.
The new District 4 will not have a primary, but will have a general election contest, as Republican Mark Reese and Democrat Michael Jobe have filed.
Two Republicans have filed in District 1 to replace Ron Sellers, Cris Corey and Randall (Randy) Parks.
Ron Hirst in District 2 and Daniel Friesen in District 3 are in the middle of their terms that end in 2024.
Reno County commissioners serve four-year terms and must reside within their district boundaries. The primary, where necessary, will take place August 2.
