Sunflower Summer returns Saturday with free access to 230+ Kansas attractions

Kansas families will have a chance to explore more than 230 attractions across the state, for free, as the 2025 Sunflower Summer program opens Saturday, July 12.

Running through Aug. 3, the program offers Kansas students in pre-K through 12th grade, along with one accompanying adult, free one-time admission to each participating attraction. Eligible families can claim passes through the free Sunflower Summer app and redeem them at the door. The program is open to Kansas residents only and includes students enrolled in public, private and homeschool settings.

This year’s lineup includes something for every interest, from historic landmarks to outdoor adventures, museums, art galleries, live theater and more.

Highlights include:

  1. Museums & Historic Sites like the Cosmosphere and STRATACA, Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City, Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site in Topeka, and the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum in Abilene.
  2. Zoos and Nature Centers such as the Sedgwick County Zoo, Topeka Zoo, Rolling Hills Zoo in Salina, Sunset Zoo in Manhattan, and Hedrick Exotic Animal Farm in Nickerson.
  3. State Parks and Outdoor Spaces including Mushroom Rock, Kanopolis, Cedar Bluff, Little Jerusalem Badlands, and Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve.
  4. Art Experiences like the Wichita Art Museum, Lawrence Arts Center, Spencer Museum of Art, and Birger Sandzén Memorial Art Gallery in Lindsborg.
  5. Unique Stops such as Dorothy’s House in Liberal, the World’s Largest Ball of Twine in Cawker City, the Garden of Eden in Lucas, and Museum of World Treasures in Wichita.
  6. Live Theatre Performances, including The Music Man! in Lindsborg, Tuck Everlasting at Great Plains Theatre in Abilene, and a Disney double feature at Theatre in the Park in Shawnee.
  7. Baseball Fun with the Wichita Wind Surge on July 13 as they host the San Antonio Missions at Riverfront Stadium.
