Robert Bruce Slinkard |1938-2021|

Robert Bruce Slinkard of Pratt KS passed away December 16, 2021 at his home. He was born on August 20, 1938 in Leadville, CO to Ralph Bruce and Vita Lorraine Slinkard. Robert married Barbara Ann (Baringer) Slinkard 61 years ago on August 19, 1960.
Bob was known for his love for his family, his deep faith and generosity, and his beautiful and bountiful gardens.
Bob graduated from Isabel High School in 1956. He joined the United States Navy in May 1960, where he served during the Vietnam War. He was Master Chief Electronics Technician and retired from the Navy in June 1980. He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; Cindy and Steve Shumway of Pratt; Julie and Charley Bartlett of Mustang, OK; Steve Slinkard of Gordonville, TX; siblings, Frances Protheroe of Wichita; Bill Slinkard of Medicine Lodge; grandsons, Chris and Amber Shumway, Eric Beeler and Brittany Nefcy, Jonathan Turner, Kes Slinkard, Gage Slinkard; and five great grandchildren.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Bruce Slinkard, Jr; daughter, Amy Wayland; and sisters, Dorothy Stark and Mary Jane Hindman.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pratt Food Bank or Pratt 4-H Foundation in care of Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt, KS 67124.
