Dorothy Ann Gregory, 93, of Buhler, passed away on July 29, 2022. She was born July 15, 1929 in Stapp, Oklahoma, the daughter of Rosser A. and Jettie I. (Wood) Scott.

Dorothy graduated from Broken Arrow (Oklahoma) High School with the class of 1946. In 1950, she graduated from Northeastern State College, Tahlequah, OK with a bachelor’s degree in Business Education.

She was a member of the Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church and a past member of the Evening Star Quilt Guild in Hutchinson.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Marcus Leon Gregory on November 22, 1950 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2009.

Dorothy taught school in Oklahoma and also at Daisy School near Yoder, in the early 1950s. She and Leon founded Gregory, Incorporated in 1956, where she worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for 64 years. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, organic gardening, reading, and cooking and she gave generously of her time, talents, and treasure to her church, family, and numerous charitable organizations.

She is survived by her sons: Timothy Gregory and wife Donna of Nixa, MO; Jonathan Gregory of Lincoln, NE; and David Gregory and wife Beth of Cornelius, NC; a daughter, Sarah Kuykendall and husband Todd of Enid, OK; daughter-in-law, Valerie Gregory of Buhler; eight granddaughters: Leah Yoder and husband Greg of Burbank, CA; Lindsay Butler and husband David of Scarborough, ME; Claire Bowling and husband Jacob of St. Louis, MO; Andrea Gregory of St. Louis, MO; Joanna Gregory of Springfield, MO; Abigail Gregory of Cornelius, NC; Grace Gregory of Greenville, SC; and McKayla Bishop and husband Payton of Piedmont, OK; four grandsons, Andrew Gregory of Hutchinson; Aaron Gregory and wife Morgan of Springfield, MO; Jedidiah Gregory of Charlotte, NC; and Christopher Kuykendall and wife Morgan of Cashion, OK; twelve great-grandchildren: Gavriel and Lily Yoder; Vienna, Oliver, and Cora Butler; Asher and Aiden Gregory; Ella, Everett, Ezra, and Eli Kuykendall; and Max Bishop; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Marcus L. (Mark) Gregory; brother, Paul Scott; and sister, Ella Jane Dozier.

Viewing and burial will be held at Buhler East Cemetery at 9:45am, August 5. Memorial service will follow at 11:00am at Buhler MB Church, followed by a luncheon. Family will greet friends at a viewing at Buhler Mortuary from 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday, August 4.
