HUTCHINSON, Kan. — According to a social media message from Central Christian School, Superintendent Dr. John Walker, serves as the state representative for all Kansas schools which are members of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
He recently spent several days in Washington, D.C., at ACSI’s National Public Policy and Advocacy Summit to hear from and meet with some of the nation's top leaders regarding education policy, faith, and political issues. At the summit, Dr. Walker shared with other ACSI school leaders how he is involved at the state level, and he encouraged others to do the same in their home states.
Walker also met with Representative Tracey Mann and the congressional staff of Senator Roger Marshall and Senator Jerry Moran.
"As Christians, school leaders, and citizens, we must be engaged in the sphere of politics," Walker said. "Our culture is surely not sitting on the sidelines remaining neutral, and neither must we remain neutral on policies that will impact our children's children. What a blessing it is to live in the United States of America and to have the opportunity to interact with the political system to make our voices heard."
