

Roy Allen Goss, 77, died July 3, 2020, at his home. He was born July 19, 1942, in Hutchinson, to Talbert E. ‘Tobe’ and Ora F. (Price) Goss.
Roy attended Lincoln Grade School, Sherman Junior High, and Wichita North High School. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1968. Roy received four medals: National Defense and Vietnam Service Medals, Navy Unit Commendation Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal, with three Stars. He was a semi-truck parts salesman from 1969- 2006. Roy most recently enjoyed driving the bus for residents at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson, and playing pool daily. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and a member of Westside Baptist Church.
On November 15, 1968, he married Mary Ann Ashley in Lyons. She died February 15, 2008. On November 3, 2019, he married Barbara (Ahrens) Hodges. Barbara and Roy knew each other over 20 years through Westside Baptist Church.
Roy is survived by wife, Barbara of South Hutchinson; son, Joshua Goss and wife Martina; grandchildren, Dominik and Natalie, all of Shelton, Connecticut; bonus daughter, Sheila Friesen and husband Travis of Hutchinson and her children, Savannah, Ethan, and Nathan Pace; great-grandson, Ryker Oldenettel; and sisters, Glenda Forbes of South Hutchinson, and Cleo Gualdoni of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Robyn (who died in 1976); and a brother, Morris Goss.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Westside Baptist Church, 400 W. 12th, Hutchinson, with Pastor Tim Adrian officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
