Armella Marie Pohl, 85, died March 31, 2022, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born April 9, 1936, at rural Mt. Hope, to Werner and Margaret (Halfmann) Orth.

Armella worked at Holy Cross Catholic School in the kitchen and was a custodial assistant, as well as working in partnership with her husband in their painting business. Her favorite job was providing daycare in her home. Armella enjoyed decorating during the Christmas holidays, growing flowers, and gardening. She also excelled at canning produce from her garden. Armella was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Holy Cross Altar Society.

On June 7, 1955, she married Walter Pohl, in Conway Springs. He died March 9, 1990, having shared over 34 years of marriage. Armella was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Pete Orth.

Armella is survived by: children, Gary (Tammy) Pohl, Dianne (Mike) Kelsey, Nancy (Douglas)Mourn, John (Connie) Pohl, and Robert Pohl; sister, Delores Clark; grandchildren, Weston (Alicia) Pohl, Nathan Pohl, Adam Pohl, Mallory (Adam) Zeidler, Lindsey (Josh) Dispoto, Tyler (Nicole) Kelsey, Zachary Kelsey, Jason Kelsey, Jaimee (Sodavy) Pohl, Derrick (Kaitlynn) Pohl, Christopher Pohl, Greg Pohl, Alan Pohl, Adrienne Pohl, and Anya Pohl; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Parish Rosary will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022, and Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022, both at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2631 Independence Road, Hutchinson, Kansas, with Father Aaron Spexarth officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
