Katie Beachy, 89, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at her home. She was born December 18, 1931 in Hutchinson, the daughter of Levi E. and Anna (Keim) Helmuth.
She attended Elmhirst School in rural Hutchinson. Katie was a member of the Amish Church.
She was united in marriage to Alvin S. Beachy on February 18, 1954 in rural Hutchinson. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2010.
Katie was a dairy farm wife and devoted homemaker.
Survivors include her daughters, Norma Beachy of Hutchinson, Janice (John) Yoder of Hutchinson, and Barbara (Harry) Borntrager of Haven; daughter-in-law, Bertha Beachy of Hutchinson; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Lena Helmuth of South Hutchinson; brother, Edward Helmuth of Florida; sisters-in-law, Katie Yoder, Wilma Beachy, and Susie Beachy; and brother-in-law, Willis Miller.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Anna Helmuth; husband, Alvin Beachy; son, Loren Beachy; granddaughter, Deborah Borntrager; sister, Dora Beachy; and brothers, Enos and Floyd Helmuth.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Amish Community Center, 5917 W Mills Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67501. Burial will follow in the Amish Community Cemetery, Hutchinson. Family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 17 at the Amish Community Center.
