 For the second time this season, Hutchinson Community College sophomore&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/mtrack/2025-26/bios/makalo_kebba_byxi">Kebba Makalo</a>&nbsp;was named the KJCCC Track and Field Track Athlete of the Week. The Blue Dragon sprinter from Willingara, Gambia, broke his own Blue Dragon 100-meter record with an Emporia State Relays last Thursday winning time of 10.03 seconds. He beat his own record of 10.06 seconds set last season at the Region 6 championships.&nbsp; Makalo was just .01 seconds off a second record on Thursday, placing second in the 200 meters with a personal-record time of 20.49 seconds. That mark ranks No. 2 in the NJCAA and No. 2 in the Blue Dragon outdoor charts. Makalo was named the KJCCC Track Athlete of the Week on Week 2 of the outdoor season. He is the fourth Blue Dragon to earn weekly conference honors. The Blue Dragons are making another schedule change this week. Hutchinson will now compete at the Alex Francis Relays on Thursday at Fort Hays State University in Hays.
