Edwin Wayne "Ed" Boyd |1940-2021|

Edwin Wayne "Ed" Boyd known by many as "Eddie", 80, of Hutchinson, died May 23, 2021, at his home. He was born on August 5, 1940, in Eunice, New Mexico to Claude and Mary (Minton) Boyd.

Ed joined the United States Army in 1960 and served for two years. He worked at Eaton for many years as an inspector. Ed loved sports of all kinds, as well as music especially rock 'n roll.

In 1960, he married Linda (Freeman) Gillham. They had three daughters and later divorced. On March 23, 1985, Ed married Rosemary Ann Long, in Hutchinson. They shared 36 years together.

He is survived by: wife, Rosemary Boyd, Hutchinson; daughters, Gina Hoskinson (Jack), Junction City, Shelly Hoefer (Kenny), Hutchinson, and Lori West (Jeff), Plevna; seven grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and seven great great-grandchildren.

Ed was preceded in death by: his parents; parents-in-law; two brothers, a sister; and two grandsons, Rory and Zeke.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Kansas Army National Guard Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
