Harry Lee Field, 73, died Friday, May 20, 2022, at Hospice House of Hutchinson. He was born September 22, 1948, in Hutchinson, to Orville L. and Esther I. (Reeves) Field.
Harry graduated from Buhler High School in 1966 and attended Hutchinson Junior College before enlisting in the United States Navy, serving from 1969-1972. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 1975 and master’s degree in 1977 from Kansas State University, and earned his Doctor of Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1985. Harry retired in 2013, after more than 26 years on the faculty of the Department of Agricultural Engineering at Oklahoma State University. He was a member of Union Valley Bible Church and involved in Boy Scouts of America and Exchange Club.
On July 31, 1976, Harry married Marsha K. Baugher, in Manhattan. They shared 45 years of marriage. She survives.
Also surviving are: his sons, Alex (Lauren) Field of Redwood City, CA, and Paul (Emily) Field of Aurora, CO; sisters, Mary (Stan) Barnes, Nancy Thomas, Cathy Hicks, Donna (Roy) Cummins; brothers, Glenn (Cheryl) Field, Dean (Peggy) Field; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2022, at Union Valley Bible Church, 1916 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the church. The service will be livestreamed on the church website.
