Today's "Throwback Thursday Collection" takes us to the southwest corner of North Main and 9th Avenue.
Originally, this property was residential and one of the homes was Emerson Carey's early home in the early 1900s.
By the 1940s, the homes were razed to make room for commercial development.
In 1954, the building construction at 825 N. Main was a joint venture by E.&M.&H. Architects and First Federal Savings & Loan, which moved to this location from 27 E. 1st. The first photo shows the building at completion.

First Federal was here from 1954 to 1989.
It was the Union National Bank from 1989 until 1995.
Then it became the Commerce Bank from 1995 to 2002.
In 2006, Eagle Media Corp. bought the property and moved its radio broadcasting facilities here from 17th & Harding. The second photo shows the 825 N. Main property today, still the Eagle Media Center. The property is owned by Spirit Property Management L.L.C. out of Hays.
