Wichita, KS- The Wind Surge defeated the Tulsa Drillers 10-7 on Saturday night as Wichita scored four runs in the seventh inning to re-take the lead and clinch their fourth consecutive series victory.
Kody Funderburk pitched five innings on the mound for Wichita, allowing two runs on four hits, and tallied one walk and five strikeouts before being relieved by Steven Cruz in the sixth inning.
Jair Camargo had three hits and three RBIs in the game including a three-run homer in the bottom of the third inning that extended Wichita’s lead to 4-0.
Yunior Severino followed with a two-run home run that scored Isola and stretched the lead to 6-0.
The Drillers got on the board in the fourth inning courtesy of a home run from Brandon Lewis that cut the deficit to 6-2. Lewis finished the game one for three with three RBIs.
The Drillers took a 7-6 lead in the top of the seventh inning behind a three-run homer from Leonel Valera.
The Surge took back the lead in the seventh inning after seven straight unanswered runs from Tulsa as they scored four runs behind RBI singles from Yake, Keirsey Jr., and Sturgeon. Severino followed with a fielder’s choice groundout that extended the lead to 10-7.
The Wind Surge have won 13 of their last 15 games and lead the division by six games.
