The City of Hutchinson Public Works Department will begin repairs on Monday, Dec. 8, to address a failure in the stormwater line crossing N. Plum Street between East 3rd Avenue and East 4th Avenue.

Due to the severity of the failure, crews will need to open-cut the street to remove the damaged pipe and install new stormwater infrastructure. This work requires a full closure of N. Plum Street in both directions within the project limits.

The closure is expected to last approximately two weeks, weather permitting.

A two-week detour will be in place for both northbound and southbound traffic. See the attached detour map for details.

The City of Hutchinson appreciates the public’s patience as crews work to safely and efficiently complete these critical stormwater repairs.

*While this detour route is primarily designed for large truck traffic, we understand that residents may choose alternative routes to navigate the area.
