RENO COUNTY, Kan. — The Reno County Sheriff's Office said that one person was killed early Thursday morning in a traffic accident. According to a social media post, just before 3:15 a.m. Thursday, deputies were dispatched to the area of 56th Avenue and Plum Street for an injury rollover accident involving one vehicle. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as 65-year-old Terry Lynn Moore from Wichita.
When they got there, deputies discovered a vehicle on its side in the northeast ditch. It appeared the driver had been ejected from the vehicle during the accident. Life saving measures were performed but were ultimately unsuccessful and the driver was pronounced dead on scene.
It appeared that the vehicle was traveling Southbound on Plum Street and failed to negotiate the curve leading to the roundabout and struck a culvert causing the vehicle to go airborne and roll.
The Hutchinson Police Department, Hutchinson Fire Department and Reno County EMS assisted in the investigation. The investigation continues.
