Hutchinson resident competing in 129th Boston Marathon

Hutchinson resident, Louis Pegon, is competing in the 129th Boston Marathon on Monday morning. Pegon, 33, has French citizenship, but currently resides in Hutchinson.

He will be wearing red bib number 1912 and will be in the first wave going off at 9 a.m. CT Monday morning. The race will be televised on ESPN2.

There are a total of 69 entries from the state of Kansas that are competing in the Boston Marathon. 

The race begins in Hopkinton, Mass. and ends on Boylston Street in Boston.

The Boston Marathon is the world's oldest annual marathon. The inaugural event was held in 1897 with just 15 participants competing. The race has grown in popularity with runners from all over the world in the event. There are a total of 32,080 entries in this year's race, which tops last year's 29,685 entries.
