HUTCHINSON, Kan. — 40 minutes wasn't enough on Saturday night as the Commodores from Gulf Coast State held off the Brunswick Community College Dolphins.
The Commodores led the Dolphins until the 7:09 mark of the second half on a free throw by Ty Outlaw and it was nip and tuck from that point on as the Commodores retook the lead with a runner by Devontes Cobb with seven seconds remaining in regulation.
Brunswick tied the game on a free throw by Alius Bowser at the 3.7 mark. A final desperation shot by the Commodore's fell short at the final horn.
In overtime, the Dolphins rushed to a 79-75 lead, but then the ball bounced Gulf Coast State's way as they scored the final eight points of the game to win 82-76.
The Dolphins were led in scoring by Bowser with 30. One other Brunswick player Linwood Rowe was in double digits with 20.
