Red Flag Warning in effect Wednesday

Posted Mar 10, 2021 10:48 AM

A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m Wednesday.

Extreme grassland fire danger is forecast. Winds from the southwest will be sustained from 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and relative humidity as low as 15 percent.

Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly and become very difficult to control. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
