Chamber candidate forum set for Sept. 15

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce announced a couple of events for later this month.

The first is a candidate forum scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 15, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Stringer Fine Arts Center on the HutchCC campus.

The forum will begin with candidates for the 34th State Senate, Dr. Mark Steffan and Shanna Henry. After a brief intermission, the forum will continue with Jason Probst and John Whitesel in the race for the 102 House seat, and Garth Strand and Paul Waggoner contesting in the 104th House seat.

No questions will be accepted from the audience that evening, however, the public is invited to submit questions in advance to the Hutch Chamber office. Questions may be submitted to Chelsey Dawson at [email protected].

The second event is the first Chamber breakfast of the season Wednesday, Sept. 16, also at the Stringer Fine Arts Center. You can also attend online. The event begins at 7:45 a.m. and will feature area candidates in the November election.
