Matthew Jeremiah Bortzer, 65, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Hilltop Manor in Cunningham. He was born on June 3, 1956 in Titusville, Pennsylvania to Reverend Mont and Tharon Maxine (Ralston) Bortzer. Matthew's love for his past dogs and present, Sassy and Jazzy, was known by all who knew him. He is survived by his sister, Sheila (Richard) Smith of McPherson; brothers, Mark David Bortzer of Wellington, Mont (Orpha) Bortzer Jr. of Dodge City, Eric Bortzer of Pratt and Randy (Roberta) Bortzer of Barstow, California; and many nieces and nephews. Matthew is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sharon Douglas and Marcella DeVolt; and brother, Timothy Bortzer. Visitation will be Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2021 at Larrison Mortuary. Graveside will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City with Pastor Tom Walters presiding.
