HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Darci Lynne Farmer is excited to be at the Kansas State Fair at 3 p.m. September 19. For her it's about bringing her characters to life.
"We always still think about, you know, what would my puppet sing?" Farmer said. "It's kind of funny the way we brainstorm. It's like, what would Petunia sing? What would she want to sing? It's fun choosing songs. I love it."
Farmer also wrote some songs that will be part of her show in Hutchinson.
"It's a live band playing all my music," Farmer said. "I'm going to be singing three original songs that I wrote in my show that are unreleased. No one really gets to hear them except the people that come and see me on tour."
Farmer said her producers took time through the pandemic to get new material ready.
"The show is completely different from last year," Farmer said. "We took quarantine and this break to just redesign the whole entire show, so it's brand new. All new songs. All new material. We wrote like 26 pages of comedy for this show. It's still a very family-friendly show and like I said, I'll have all five of my friends there, including the new one."
