
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The No. 1-ranked Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team held on for 69-68 win over Murray State College (Okla.) on Saturday evening at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
The Blue Dragons led by 21 points late in the third quarter, but were outscored by the Aggies, 26-8, in the final quarter.
Murray State (4-1) had a chance to tie the game up with just over three seconds left, but made one of two free throws. The Aggies rebounded the miss and had a chance to win, but a jumper was missed and rebounded by the Blue Dragons to run out the clock.
Hutchinson (4-0) was led by Hailey Jackson with a career-high 30 points, her second 30-point game of the season. The sophomore scored 30 against Neosho County on Tuesday, before going scoreless on Friday evening against Tabor JV. She was the only Blue Dragon in double-figure scoring.
Murray State was led by Arissa Garcia with 20 points in the loss.
