Opening Statement…

ā€œI want to just get started by congratulating that man (Wyatt Thompson), Kansas Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame. Well deserved, well earned, and it’s been a fun three years with you and so excited for you. I think that's a really cool deal. We're on to kind of a mock game week. We gave the players off yesterday and had first day of classes. Then today, we'll get them back. We practiced Friday, Saturday, Sunday, right before school started, gave them Monday off, and then today we'll get into kind of a mock game, or mock week with Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday practice, and then we'll do a mock game on Friday night. Just trying to get underneath the lights at 6, 7, 8 o'clock in that range to get acclimated to that. Then we'll start truly into our full game week a week from yesterday, but I know the guys are excited. You guys saw we named six captains last Sunday. Totally voted on by their peers, guys in the seats in here when we had the vote. I’m excited about those six guys and how they represent Kansas State on the field, off the field. We're excited about the leadership that those guys are going to bring as well as a bunch of other guys because we had a lot of guys received votes. We’re going to play a really good South Dakota team. I'm very familiar with Coach (Bob) Nielson. I have tons and tons of respect for Coach Nielson. He's a winner, won at every place he's been at. He's got a good football team that was a playoff team last year. So. w
