Hutchinson, Kan. – The Hutchinson Community College livestock judging team returned home from the prestigious Sioux Empire Livestock Show in Sioux Falls, SD with several honors, including being named the Champion Overall Sophomore Team.
The team judged a total of 12 classes of livestock, including cattle, swine, sheep and meat goats, and gave eight sets of oral reasons. In the sophomore division, results were as follows:
· Sheep and Goat Division: Kasey Johnson, High Individual; Jade Parrish, 3rd High Individual; Sarah Sergeant, 5th High Individual
· Swine Division: Jade Parrish, 2nd High Individual; Sarah Sergeant, 4th High Individual
· Cattle Division: Tray Zabokrtsky, High Individual; Will Banks, 3rd High Individual
· Reasons Division: Jade Parrish, High Individual; Will Banks, 4th High Individual; Baxter Blair, 5th High Individual; Kasey Johnson, 6th High Individual; Sarah Sergeant, 7th High Individual; Lorren Herndon, 10th High Individual
· Overall: Kasey Johnson, High Overall; Jade Parrish, 3rd Overall; Will Banks, 4th Overall; Sarah Sergeant, 7th Overall
· Team Rankings: High Team Overall, High Team Reasons, 2nd High Team Cattle
The Freshmen team also competed and found success. Their results are as follows:
