HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Second seeded College of Southern Idaho held off a pesky New Mexico Junior College team on Monday afternoon. The Golden Eagles had a 16 point lead at the nine-minute mark of the second half and had hold off a run by the Road Runners to survive and advance 73-66.
The Golden Eagles were led in scoring by Ace Reiser with 28. Jaylen Lyn was the only other Eagle in double figures with 23.
For the Road Runners of New Mexico Junior College, they were led by R. J. Nance with 23. Like the Golden Eagles the only other player in double figures was Michael Mackey with 13.
New Mexico Junior College ends their season at 27-7.
College of Southern Idaho will play in game the second quarterfinal on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
