Persillie, Frye, Reimer and Williams score feature wins on opening night

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Opening weekend for Salt City Racing at the Kansas State Fairgrounds featured a full slate of IMCA racing action Friday night, with drivers from Kansas and Oklahoma claiming feature victories across four divisions.

In the IMCA Modified feature, Hoisington driver Mike Petersilie powered the No. 25P machine to a first-place finish. Wichita’s Braden Stoner finished second in the No. 44 car, while William Nusser of Larned placed third in the No. 7N.

The IMCA Northern SportMod feature saw Trevin Frye of Belleville take the checkered flag in the No. 11 car. Jonathan Saliba of New Cambria finished second in the No. 5S entry, followed by Hutchinson’s Dalton Chambers in the No. 17D.

Hutchinson’s Jayce Reimer thrilled the hometown crowd with a victory in the IMCA Stock Car feature. Reimer drove the No. 775 car to the win, while Colten Kelley of Wichita finished second in the No. 2K and Hutchinson’s Chris Pitts took third in the No. 01.

In IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car action, Ty Williams of Arcadia, Oklahoma captured the feature victory in the No. 911 car. Taylor Velasquez of Liberal finished second in the No. 21X, while Tyler Knight of Spearville rounded out the top three in the No. 11K.

Opening weekend continues Saturday with additional racing action at the Kansas State Fairgrounds, including the Salt City 100.
