Truck strikes man walking on campus of Kan. aircraft parts maker

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a pedestrian accident that critically injured a man in Wichita.

Just before 7a.m. Friday., deputies responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision on Spirit AeroSystems campus near Gate 13 at 4400 E MacArthur in Wichita, according to Lt. Benjamin Blick.

During the investigation deputies learned an eastbound GMC truck driven by a 39-year-old man struck a 48-year-old man walking northbound. The driver of the GMC stopped after the collision and remained at the scene.

EMS transported the pedestrian to a local hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the GMC was not injured. Authorities released no additional details early Friday afternoon.
