
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — According to KanDrive.org, most major highways are partially to completely snow covered as of 5 a.m. Wednesday.
The Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 a.m. Thursday.
Earlier this morning, much of K-61 highway in far northeast Reno County had drifts in the passing lane and snow cover in spots in the driving lane.
According to the Reno County Sheriff's Office, county blacktops are icy and snow packed. Use caution along shelter belts and bridges. Some roads have clear portions based on direction of wind. Center and edge lines come and go.

If you have the option then stay home and enjoy watching the snow. If you must get out plan extra time for your drive and slow down. Posted speed limits are mostly useless on days like today and speed should be governed by road conditions.
