MCPHERSON, Kan. — Central Christian College of Kansas has enrolled the largest incoming class in its 141-year history, continuing a trend of growth for the private institution.

The milestone marks the third consecutive year of record-setting enrollment for the college, which has offered four-year degrees since 2000.

“This affirms our mission and inspires us to continue building a strong future,” Central Christian President Lenny Favara said in a statement. “For more than 140 years, we have sought to make college affordable and accessible, while remaining focused on providing a Christ-centered education grounded in character, competence and calling.”

School leaders point to affordability, faith-based education and student diversity as key reasons for the growth. All residential students receive scholarships, and Central Christian was recently listed among the most affordable private colleges in Kansas. The college is also designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution and was ranked as the most diverse campus in the state by Niche.com in 2023.

Career outcomes have also been a selling point. A 2025 alumni survey reported that more than 90 percent of graduates were employed or on a career path within six months of graduation, with 75 percent working directly in their field of study.

“Students and families are seeking a place where they can receive quality academics, develop their faith, and do so at a price they can afford,” said Alex Wuest, vice president of engagement and growth. “Central Christian delivers on all of these fronts.”

The McPherson-based college offers 44 areas of study and maintains a 13-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio.
