McPHERSON, Kan. — The City of McPherson and the McPherson Fire Department have confirmed the arrest of one of the department’s firefighters and say the matter is under review.
In a brief statement released Friday, Fire Chief Chad Mayberry said city officials are aware of the situation and are “diligently reviewing the matter.” The city declined to provide additional details, citing personnel policies.
“At this time, the City of McPherson will not comment on personnel matters,” the statement said. “The City of McPherson and the MFD take these allegations very seriously, as public safety is the highest priority.”
No information was released regarding the nature of the arrest, the charges involved, or the firefighter’s employment status. City officials said there will be no further comment at this time.
