
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Preliminary hearings are set for Thursday afternoon for a Hutchinson Correctional Facility employee and three women accused of smuggling contraband into Hutchinson Correctional Facility.
Twenty-two-year-old Zachary Wood of Newton faces eight different counts in an effort to smuggle K2 into the facility. Wood faces three counts of conspiracy, three counts of using a communication device to distribute drugs, one count of drug distribution and one count of trafficking contraband into a correctional facility. The three women arrested in the case are Ester Davis, Denisha Starns and Stephanie Thindiu.
According to the complaint, Wood used the three women to bring the synthetic marijuana into the facility over a period of two months.
Thursday's hearings are set for 1:30 p.m.
