RENO COUNTY – The results are in from the Community Health Assessment. The Community Health Assessment (CHA) is a survey that takes place every three years to assess the health of Reno County and to identify emerging issues. 210 random households were chosen to be surveyed and a total of 183 households completed the assessment.

The Health Access Taskforce (HAT) will now analyze the data to determine which topics will be priority areas over the next three years as part of the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).

The process began in February when the Healthcare Access Taskforce asked Reno County residents to submit their top three overall concerns, health concerns, and school concerns. 796 responses were received. The responses from this initial survey were reviewed and utilized to create the more detailed CHA survey.

Results from the Community Health Assessment show the top three overall concerns for Reno County include drug/substance use, childcare, and mental health. The top three health concerns for Reno County are drug/substance use, mental health, and obesity. The three top school concerns in Reno County include mental health, bullying, and recruiting teachers.
