Man from Lyons hospitalized after I-70 crash

WABAUNSEE COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just before 6a.m. Tuesday in Wabaunsee County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Brian Christopher Sanders, 38, Junction City, was eastbound on Interstate 70 near Ranch Road passing a 2001 Lincoln Town Car driven by Christopher Drew Miles, 41, Lyons

The Lincoln began to skid while crossing a bridge.  The Lincoln struck Mercury in the right rear quarter panel.

Both vehicles spun out in the median of the interstate and the Lincoln struck a westbound guardrail and came to rest facing west. The Mercury came to rest in the median facing east.

EMS transported Sanders and Mies to Stormont Vail in Topeka. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
