NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman to Visit Cosmosphere for Hall of Space Reopening

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Cosmosphere will host a high-profile visit next week as Jared Isaacman, administrator of NASA, travels to Hutchinson for the reopening of a newly renovated museum space.

Isaacman will be joined by U.S. Senator Jerry Moran and former NASA flight director Gerry Griffin during the visit scheduled for Monday, April 6.

The visit will include a private tour of the Cosmosphere campus, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. to officially unveil the updated Hall of Space Museum.

During the tour, Isaacman is expected to explore the Cosmosphere’s extensive collection of historic space artifacts and exhibits, as well as observe its nationally recognized educational programming. The visit highlights the facility’s role as a leading space museum and STEM education center in the region.

The renovated Hall of Space Museum features refreshed exhibits, interactive displays, and enhanced storytelling elements designed to showcase the history of human space exploration. The updates aim to provide a more immersive experience for visitors while inspiring interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Cosmosphere officials say the reopening marks a significant milestone in the organization’s ongoing mission to preserve space history and expand educational opportunities for visitors of all ages.

The event underscores the Cosmosphere’s continued prominence as a destination for space science education and its connection to national leaders in aerospace and innovation.
