

Robert Alvin ‘Bob’ Trostle, Sr., 87, died July 23, 2020, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born August 23, 1932, in Wichita, to Melvin Porter and Olive May (Gallant) Trostle.
Bob graduated from El Dorado High School in 1950, and attended Phillips University, Enid, OK, and Friends University, Wichita. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and Europe from 1951-1955. Bob worked for AT&T (formerly Southwestern Bell Telephone) as the area manager for installation and repair. He retired April 8, 1989, after 38 years of service. Bob was a lifetime member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68. In addition, he belonged to the Telephone Pioneers Association. Bob was a member of First Christian Church, El Dorado.
On February 25, 1954, Bob married Dona Faye Shields, in Weisbaden, Germany.
Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dona; children, Terri Sherwood, Robert Trostle, Jr. (Michele), Pamela Holland (Jeff), and Lisa Uhl (George); 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has taken place, and per Bob’s wishes, there will be no service. Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, is in charge of arrangements.
